Creating
the
Video Documentary
for the
Nature's Apprentice Project
Purpose of the Documentary (Revised
from the original)
Students
will translate web pages into short (2-3 minute) video documentaries that explain
some aspect of life in the Sonoran Desert. Some of the documentaries will be
translated to video that can be streamed on the web. Students will approach
a local news station to "air" the documentaries.
Learning Objectives of the Documentary
- Students will create, share, and organize web pages
into short video shots in the style of a documentary.
- Students will identify, differentiate, and choose
appropriate shots for a documentary style video production as well as a web
site.
- Students will differentiate between analog and digital
video production procedures and techniques.
- Students will create a narrative that will enhance
and support visual content.
- Students will create and select appropriate sound
for a documentary style video production as well as a web
site.
- Students will negotiate copyright agreements where
applicable.
- Students will publish in an electronic environment.
