Mountain Elementary School Waste Reduction Data
Different
grade levels at Black Mountain Elementary School recycled to reduce
the amount of solid waste sent to the landfill. The fifth grade
came up with a plan to recycle paper and plastic and to collect
data on how we are doing.

club. This data shows how effective each classroom's recycling
efforts were and point out areas that can be improved. Check out
the waste audit on our principal!

| Mrs.
Severance's and Mrs Kappel's classes collected data on solid waste
in the cafeteria . Below you will find data collected for two
days of lunch room waste audits for paper, plastic, styrofoam,
food, and other waste. We used this data to make recommendations
on dealing with lunch waste at our school.
During
Earth Week we encouraged students to bring an "Earth Friendly"
(low waste) lunch to see if we could reduce the totals for solid
waste. Check out our data for the Earth Day Lunch Waste Audit.
